Refund and Cancellation Policy

This Policy explains how refunds, exchanges, and cancellations are handled for tickets purchased for Wonder of Africa Film Festival (“the Festival”), running 7–10 April 2027 in Paternoster, Western Cape, South Africa, and the accompanying seven-day online programme.

1. General Ticket Sales

  • All ticket sales are processed through our official ticketing partner, [TICKETING PLATFORM TBC].
  • Tickets are, save as set out below, non-refundable and non-exchangeable once purchased, in line with standard event ticketing practice.
  • Please check session dates, times, and venues carefully before purchasing, as we are unable to offer refunds for buyer error (e.g., booking the wrong date or session).

2. Cancellation by You (No-Shows)

If you are unable to attend a session or the Festival after purchasing a ticket, no refund will be issued for non-attendance. You are welcome to transfer your ticket to another person by emailing us at info@wonderofafricafilmfestival.co.za at least 48 hours in advance with the new attendee’s details.

3. Postponement or Cancellation by Us

We reserve the right to postpone, reschedule, or cancel any session or the Festival in whole or in part due to circumstances including but not limited to:

  • Adverse weather conditions
  • Venue unavailability
  • Public health or safety concerns
  • Load shedding or infrastructure failures
  • Other events of force majeure beyond our reasonable control

In such cases:

  • Postponed/Rescheduled events: Your existing ticket will remain valid for the new date. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled date, you may request a refund within 14 days of the rescheduling being announced.
  • Cancelled events: You will be offered a full refund of the ticket price. Booking fees charged by our ticketing partner may not be refundable, depending on their terms.

We will notify ticket holders of any postponement or cancellation via the email address provided at purchase and/or via our Website and social media channels.

4. How Refunds Are Processed

Where a refund is due under this Policy:

  • Refunds will be processed via [TICKETING PLATFORM TBC] back to the original payment method used.
  • Please allow up to 10 business days for the refund to reflect.
  • We are not responsible for delays caused by your bank or payment provider.

5. Online Festival Access

Tickets or passes for the seven-day online programme are non-refundable once access credentials or streaming links have been issued, except where the online programme is cancelled entirely by us.

6. Consumer Protection Act

Nothing in this Policy limits any rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, where applicable.
